Jimmy Church - 1, 2, 3 (1966)
Backed by Gatemouth Brown & The Beat Boys for the Beat TV show with stunning sound a colour for 1966 TV! I've always loved the Len Barry hit version as well. In 1960 Jimmy Church recorded his first record as a solo artist for Nashville's Hickory label.
He kept a record deal throughout the 1960s and 1970s, recording for Okeh (Hurt was a minor hit in the UK), Sound Stage 7, Peach Tree, Hermitage and other smaller companies. In the 1960s he was managed bu record producer and WLAC disc jockey "Hoss" Allen, so it inevitable that he would become a Beat regular. He joined the house band in the second series of the show playing conga drums as well as performing as a guest -Fred James
