Parliament and George Clinton

Parliament - Tear The Roof Off The Sucker
This clip is 15 minutes long and is wild. I think George Clinton must have thought the way forward is to be wilder than Sly & The Family Stone at least the outfits anyway.

The space craft at the end of the number was also a hard act to follow. I must admit though, when he came to Birmingham I had to leave to theatre in order to save my hearing! I'm sure all my now deaf friends were the ones that stayed 'till the end of the show. Fred westley & Sinclair Pickney horns. Plus The Brides of Funkenstien. Live in Houston, Texas. Stunning sound mix down.

George Clinton (born July 22, 1941) is an American musician and the principal architect of P-Funk. He was the mastermind of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic during the 1970s and early 1980s, and is a solo funk artist as of 1981. He has been called one of the most important innovators of funk music, next to James Brown and Sly Stone. Clinton is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducted in 1997 with fifteen other members of Parliament-Funkadelic.
